Are people born as leaders? Or, do people grow and become leaders? Right now, in The Grounds Guys’ network, it really doesn’t matter.
Here’s why: I consider each of you a leader and I know you demonstrate leadership in your individual businesses every day, in every way. Our Home Office team spent time with the Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) this week, and as I told them, as franchise owners, I know you play many roles for your team: coach, counselor, mentor, psychologist, nurse, drill sergeant, financial analyst, support system, marketer, cheerleader and overall champion!
Moreover, I recognize and appreciate how many franchisees attended Reunion and this year’s technical training events, opened our communications, participated in weCARE Day and have worked with your franchise consultants to transition to GGPro! These actions show how you have stepped up and taken on additional responsibilities while remaining effective in your respective roles as a business owner. Saying, these are exciting times for The Grounds Guys would be a major understatement as we build on our successes of the past. I’m quite confident that we are one of the strongest/best brands under the Dwyer Group/Neighborly umbrella.
It’s thought-provoking how leaders – including myself – can find cause or identify some task that needs to be done better, and faster. It is on my radar to purposefully slow down and recognize my team’s accomplishments and how hard they are working for all of you. I also want you to know that I value every franchisee and your contributions to your local market and the leadership you give your employees. There’s no doubt that we all have a lot of work to do as the end of 2017 rapidly nears! In this season of Thanksgiving, I wanted to pause and encourage you to share your appreciation for your people, as well.
We have undergone many changes in the past year, and I’m optimistic that our operational support, technology and marketing are moving in the right direction. Let’s keep working together to move the ball down the field, put points on the scoreboard and take The Grounds Guys to new heights of achievement.
