weCARE Corner: News from the Network

by Candice Dillon on August 6, 2018

This section shares news from around The Grounds Guys' network. The funds raised at last year's Reunion were recently donated to RMHC in Toronto. Check out how The Grounds Guys' generosity helped families of seriously ill children. If you have something you would like to share in an upcoming edition, contact your franchise consultant or shelley.blaszak@dwyergroup.com

At the 2017 Reunion, The Grounds Guys hosted and generously raised funds through an auction and quilt sale for RMHC in Toronto, Ontario. On June 14, the team attended a cheque presentation and donated $14,000 in Canadian dollars.

RMHC provides housing for families with seriously ill children who are undergoing treatment. The cost to house for one family for one night is $155 (families are asked to pay $15, the rest they count on outside support & donations). The average family's stay is 33 days, at a cost to the house of $5115. The Grounds Guys' nation helped cover the cost for three families to stay near their child during treatment. What an amazing contribution and example of how much we CARE.

This year's Reunion brings another exciting auction and a beautiful quilt being donated  and handcrafted by Pat Waleri, Roger Waleri’s mother. Thank you to Pat for all your hard work! Funds collected at this year’s auction will be directed to RMHC Cleveland. We’re looking forward to another incredible impact.
